Overwhelm and burnout come from a lack of balance in your life. The problem is that a lot of times we don't recognize or respond to the signs until we are already crashing.
Some sneaky signs of overwhelm:
Irritability or short-temper
Difficulty sleeping
Less energy
Feeling unsettled
Lack of motivation
Sound familiar? Even though many of us live with these feelings, we chalk it up to "a bad day" or, even worse, "that's just how it is."
Here's the thing: You can't create the life you want if you are overwhelmed and burnout.
To create real change, you have to be aware, take action, and be fierce about prioritizing your needs.
Get Crystal Clear on Your Goals
The first step to clearing your cache is to understand what it is you actually want. A lot of times when we're overwhelmed, FOMO will seep in and get us thinking we want EVERYTHING—or at least anything besides what we have.
But the best place to start is by looking at what you actually have right now.
Here are some journal prompts to work on this throughout the week:
What do you love most about your life?
What daily habits can you identify to help you achieve your goals?
What commitments bring you joy and which are stressing you out?
How are you actually spending your time? How do you wish you spent more of your time?
Finally, ask yourself: What is one action you could take today to work towards this?
The next few weeks are focused on creating BALANCE in your life through journaling, yoga, and mindset tips and I encourage you to follow along!
